In the era of technological advancements and the increasing need for skilled professionals, the technical institutions across the globe have to set different standards to meet ever evolving requirements and challenges for the betterment of the human kinds by filtering quality students and subsequently putting them through the research work, manufacturing and other areas of technical acumen.

The hallmark of an ideal educational institution is to provide quality education. It should consist of a series of enhancements each raising the individual to a higher level of awareness, understanding and kinship leading to wholesome development of an individual and thereby contribute to the productive development of the state and the country.

• The department was established in the year 2011 with the introduction of undergraduate programme in Electrical Engineering with intake of 60 students.
  
  The Electrical Engineering Department of SIT has been established with the sole objective to impart the technical education to the prospective students in the ever demanding area of Electrical. The diploma programme in EE provides study in different core subjects, with the proper practical applications. The department also gives emphasis to learning through project works, industrial visits and expert lecture on special topics. Most of the faculty members in the Department are having Masters Degree; a few are also working toward completing their Doctoral Programmes.

• The Department of Mechanical Engineering has been established in 2011 with an aim to impart quality education in the field of Mechanical Engineering. The Mechanical Engineering Department provides an in depth study of Machine Design & CAD, Theory of Machine, Turbo Machinery, Manufacturing Process & CNC Machines, Automobile Engineering, Thermal Engineering & Computer Integrated Manufacturing. Department gives special focus on industrial aspects of the curriculum and supplements with topics beyond the syllabus.
  
  Department has highly qualified and experienced faculty. Most of them are with Masters and a few with Ph.D. Faculty is encouraged to attend various seminar and conferences to keep them abreast with latest knowledge and development in the field.
  
  Department focuses on overall development of the students imparting skills through the live projects, industrial visits, seminars, group discussion etc.
  
  Under the department there are various state of the art laboratories. These laboratories are well equipped with latest and advanced instruments. Department is especially proud of facilities available in AutoCAD and CAD / CAM labs. In all the laboratories experimental facilities are continuously upgraded to be in tune with the technological and industrial advancement. The students are given thorough workshop training to familiarize them with the working of machine tools used in industry such as lathe, milling machine, drill machine, shaper, welding machine etc. Aim of the department is to make the student a complete mechanical engineer. For obtaining this level of expertise each course is minutely scrutinized and wherever necessary the syllabus is appropriately supplemented by additional topics. Effective teaching is implemented through the innovative and interactive learning process with conventional learning mechanism such as lectures, lab sessions etc.
  
  There is an excellent blend of dynamic faculty members in the department guided by a group of eminent and experienced professors.

• The educational objectives for Civil Engineering program are designed to produce competent engineers who are ready to contribute effectively to the advancement of civil engineering causes and to accommodate the needs of the community.

• Electronics and communication Engineering (ECE) department started functioning in the year 2011, the very foundation year of the SIT. Since its inception, the department has maintained highest standards in providing quality education in the field of Electronics and communication. The department is not only equipped with excellent infrastructure and state of art equipments to explore the technological advancement in the relevant field; but also it puts students on the live Projects of various MNC during their course with the collaboration from our own telecom company-SITYOG Eng. Pvt. Ltd. The department of ECE has also state of the art Labs and advanced hardware and with latest software tools. Most of the faculty members in the Department are having Masters Degree; a few are also working toward completing their Doctoral Programmes. Some of the faculty has vast industrial/Research experience.
